Save a life who doesn't have a say.

My issue is on abortion and how it needs to become illegal. There would be two exceptions though, those exceptions being if the pregnancy is the result of rape or if the mother’s life is endangered by the pregnancy. Almost every third baby conceived in America is killed by abortion, that is not right! This baby does not even have a say and it is murder that we are legally allowing. There is health complications linked to abortions, over 100! Some states are even helping pay for abortions. I think we need to reinforce the value of life again in the United States. My audience is to those who support abortion in the United States. Genres that I would use are the media. I could put it in the new papers, Facebook, bill boards. There are so many ways that I could get to people and I would really try to use their emotions and use statistics to get to them.

  1. I agree that it is ridiculous that this country has to turned to abortion as another form of "birth control." What kind of statistics would you use to sow the negatives of abortion and how would get the facts to change people's minds? Another thought you could use is to find some testimonies of women who have had abortions and regretted it. Overall though you have some strong points! :)

  2. You could also go to the abortion blog that Chelsie Cook had posted the other day for our blog assingment. The person that wrote that article had some strong points, maybe you could use some of those points as well.

In your arguement, it would be smart to address the issue of when does life start, at conception or at birth or somewhere in between.

  3. A quote from our good man Ronald Reagan - I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born. quoted in New York Times, 22 September 1980

But Chelsie I think you have some good strong points! I also personally would be afraid to use simple Moral beliefs as well with the statistical facts in your argument. (everyone one has the light of christ in them) Also I think that the idea given by Amanda on getting testimonies from women who regret getting abortions is a good idea!

  4. Well, if abortion is murder, then it would still be murder in cases of rape or incest. The Church doesn't deal with abortion cases the same way they do murder cases. Apparently the Lord makes a distinction.

  5. Amanda thank you for your ideas about the testimonials I think that is a really good idea. That way those that are thinking about abortion can see what someone who has had it thinks, and can hear their experiences.

Chelsea, I am also the one who did the abortion blog post a couple of days ago. But thank you for trying to help me out with finding more information. Like you mentioned, I was thinking about talking about how they define when life starts, so thank you for giving me the ok.

  6. Ty, I love that quote! I have never heard or seen it before. You mentioned you would be scared to use statistical facts and moral beliefs for my argument. So what would you use then? There are facts about the cost of it and how some states pay for it so I was planning on using that. Then there are also stats and facts about the health risks with abortion that I was going to use.

  8. Ty that quote is really powerful! It really makes you think. Chelsie you better use it in your paper! It brings on the whole topic of taking a life and does a person have the right to decide to take the life away from someone else?
