Can you say "spelchek?"

The whole point of the blog is to entertain readers... not only with some of the amazing work done by bakers... but also the tragedies created. The author wants the audience to laugh at the simple but often significant mistakes made by the bakers.

The pictures and captions combine to create amusement and provide plenty of laughter. Once you start reading this blog, time flies by. (Which is why this post is so late tonight haha :P )

And kairos is used very effectively throughout the entire thing.

Imagery... just look at the entire thing http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/
Irony... "Congratulations on you're weeding!" "huge me..." or the fancy cake that says "Happy Birthday ?"
The lack of knowledge between denotation and connotation always amuses me.
Rhetorical Questions: "With cakes like these... who needs weight watchers?"
Allusions: a lot of the cakes have references to other things: multiple sections refer to videogames and other sources of entertainment, especiallySuper Mario

Interaction: readers can comment and submit pictures to add to the collection of amusement
Proximity: the placement of words with pictures just makes you go ew! Her ever growing collections of icing looking like poo next to words like "happy birthday" and "congrats!" just makes you question the giver of the cake and the receiver.

Some other funny lines:
"Congratulations for doing and exemplary jabon TAKS capitol letters" (i think this was ordered over the phone...)
"Special People Vaulinteer"
"May the delivery be less painful than your job"
"Best Wisites Jamie!"
"You both suck for different reasons"

Oh gosh I love this blog!!!

  1. What exactly did the author use to incorporate effective kairos? How is kairos used effectively on this blog?

  2. So you say what tools they use and examples of it but how does it add to it? What does rhetorical questions or the imagery do for the audience? But I really like this blog it is very funny!

  4. For karios the author has different posts for the time of year. Take Valentines Day for instance, the blog was focused on love and the blunders bakers made trying to portray their love.

The author either finds the pictures or many of the followers can submit them to be published.
