Zeitgeist Addendum

A. A. Since the Zeitgeist addendum is a conspiracy, film the whole point of the it is to make people aware of the “truth”. Also I’m sure zeitgeist movement would be happy for some additional members. They want to discourage people from supporting the system.

B. B. The text will be more or less effective depending on who you are. Many people will not believe anything of this genre but if you do believe there might be conspiracies or secret combinations among the governments then this might appeal to you.

C. C. Every so often the members of the zeitgeist movement will hold Z days. Which are basically rallies to spread their ideas. This could be considered the Karios for perpetuation of the Zeitgeist addendum. Also with corporations becoming more and more international and powerful the believability of the conspiracy.

D. D. 1. Stating a rhetorical question that makes people think through the question. “So, what do we do? How do we stop a system of greed and corruption?”

2. Metaphor makes a comparison with something that we are familiar to establish a point- “The fractional reserve policy, perpetrated by the Federal Reserve, which has spread in practice to the great majority of banks in the world, is, in fact, a system of modern slavery.”

3. allusion. Refers to something in a historical context so that we can compare it with something we are familiar with. “Physical slavery requires people to be housed and fed. Economic slavery requires people to feed and house themselves.”

4. imagery appeals to your senses in a form of pathos. “In a world where 1 % of the population owns 40% of the planet's wealth... In a world where 34,000 children die every single day from poverty and preventable diseases, and where 50% of the world's population lives on less than 2 dollars a day... One thing is clear. Something is very wrong. And whether we are aware of it or not, the lifeblood of all our established institutions and thus society itself is money.”

E. 1. The whole movie is just like a great visual. Its got all sorts of imagery that’s meant to appeal to your emotions. Unfortunately for them they really don’t have any evidence so it makes it hard to use logos.

2. the Zeitgeist movement has a lot of forums that are new media. They let the members make conferences and decide where to do there z days.

  1. What people are they trying make aware of the "truth?" To be honest I had never heard of this so I am just curious how they are trying to interest people (and present their argument) to those who have no idea about this topic. I wonder how they try and appeal to a broader audience than just the Zeitgeist Movement members.

  2. I'm wondering the same things as Aaron. Also, I'm not sure if this text is meant to appeal to audiences more emotionally or logically? It seems like it can go both ways.

  3. great comments Aaron and Heidi. the reason you probably haven't heard of this is because they are relativly small and they are also strong atheists. as Richard John Neuhaus said "socialism is the religion people get when they lose there religion" and this is very socialist. since they don't really have any evidence they try and appeal to your emotions. they show you how sad the world and that it is all the effect of capitalism.
