Monopoly Makeover

  1. I'm so sorry. I did not mean to push enter when I was typing, so how about I try this?

I chose an article on the new Monopoly game that is begin released for the 75th anniversary edition. The new game is has had a drastic makeover. The author in the article goes into detail about what the changes are, such as the round board, and how it will effect peoles opinion and sales of the game. The author offers very good points as to what aspects of the new game are there to attract new, young, technology savvy youth, rather than those who have loved Monoploy for years. This makeover and article just go to show how much companies are willing to tailor their product to a specific audience, sometimes even if they had a previous reputation.

  2. I saw this article and my heart was saddened. While I understand that they made the changes to appeal to a different audience I am not a fan of the changes. If we read the same article then I agree that they took out the best part of the game: stealing from your little brother in a "losing the dice under the couch move" or stealing from the bank. :)

  4. isn't it interesting that we consider something of more value when it has been changed, even if that change adds nothing of significant value.

  5. Wow I am just having some major problems with technology this morning! Here is the address to the article. http://finance.yahoo.com/career-work/article/108764/monopoly-gets-a-makeover-but-will-die-hard-fans-buy-it??mod=family-home

I totally agree with you Aaron! At my house we always fight over who gets to be the banker so we can, uh, "cushion our wallets."
